Coarse fishing - 12.06.2009

My flyfishing plans was blown out by the weather, so I choose some coarse fishing with wagglers not far away from Ingolstadt. The lake was hiding some really big bream.

Auslauf Baggersee - Ingolstadt 08.06.2009

Abens 03.06.2009

It was an usualy working day, but a special one cause I planned with one of my working colleagues, to go fly fishing on the 'Abens'. There is a part of 4,8 km of this creek, starting with the bridge by Malmersdorf where is only fly fishing allowed. After we finished work, got the fishing licences and went to the water. It was a good day, a few great hours with trouts between 32-36 cm. Some small Leuciscus leuciscus where also there. I caught the fish only with nymphs. I tried also some dry flies but I think the water was still to milky. I hope you'll enjoy the pics.

Weisser Regen 15.05.2009-17-05.2009

I had a great weekend, fishing on the 'Weisser Regen ', of course fly fishing. Great place in the 'Bayerischen Wald' on the confluence of the White Rain (Weisser Regen) and the Black Rain (Schwarzer Regen). Be sure I'll be back to catch more graylings and trouts. Biggest fish was a grayling about 35 cm caught on a very small bead head pheasent tail. I had also the ocasion to fish together with the german fly tying champion between 2000 and 2008.

Kuttenreicher Weiher - April

First warm days of the year and of course the first signs of spring. Coars fishing was not bad as you can see, lots of roach, red fin and a nice tench about 45 cm and 1,4 kg.

Ireland 20.03.2009-28.03.2009

"I belong to the faubourg Saint-Patrice called Ireland for short." James Joyce

It was my second trip to Ireland and I hope not the last one. Last year I felt in love with this country and with the people there. Lough Derg was waiting as we let it last year behind us, maybe more windie and colder ( water temperature 8,9 - 9, 2 °C ) than september 2008. This was also one of the major fishing problems cause we went out on the lake only 3 days out of 7 cause of the high waves. Most of the pike was in shallow water cause the spawning period is aproaching. I could see some great fish on the fishfinder and I also caught some pike, biggest was about 16lp. heavy and 106 cm long. Best lures, like always castaic, bomber long A and some good old irish copper spoons.
The other days we took some trips to Galway, Athenry and Limerick and of course we drank Guinness and irish whisky in the pub listening to irish music. Next year hopefully the lough will be as generous with us like everytime. For the delight of the eye a few pictures.
